Experts on Forest Fires- Ad hoc group Call
Following a particularly demanding summer fire season, and with the European Commission preparing its new Climate Resilience Framework, wildfire risk is firmly on the European policy agenda. This builds on the Commission’s new integrated approach to wildfire risk management, launched earlier this year, which places greater emphasis on prevention and preparedness alongside response and recovery.
Against this backdrop, EUSTAFOR would like to strengthen its access to the practical experience and expertise of its members by compiling a contact network of experts on forest fires. In line with our new strategy priorities and new governance this network would work as an Ad Hoc group that will provide EUSTAFOR with access to members’ expertise whenever specific forest fire-related questions or developments require input. It can also serve as an experience sharing platform and knowledge platform. Experts may be contacted on a case-by-case basis to share practical experience and help inform EUSTAFOR’s positions, responses and work on wildfire-related issues.
Members with relevant expertise and experience who are interested in contributing to this work are invited to send us an email with their expert’s contact details to office@eustafor.eu and josep.mila@eustafor.eu We will be happy to add you to the network and involve you in future exchanges and activities on forest fires.
