LESY SR, state enterprise’s mission is through its activities to assure sustainable development of forest and to work for the benefits of the whole society, while respecting the principles of the protection of the environment, forestry traditions and long-term prosperity of the company.
LESY SR, the state enterprise is the biggest forest administrator in Slovakia. The state enterprise has 893 017 hectares of forest land under its administration, about 45 % of the total forest area of Slovakia. The enterprise was established on July 1, 1999 by merging 6 former regional state forest enterprises with its general directorate in Banská Bystrica. In 2015 the state enterprise has consisted of 23 forest enterprises and two specialised enterprises Semenoles in Liptovský Hrádok and Enterprise of Forest Technology. Company employs about 3521 people.
