The Polish State Forests are 95 Years Old!

In 2019, the State Forests – National Forest Holding in Poland celebrates 95th Anniversary of its existence.

The regional celebrations have already been taking place in 17 different regions of State Forests, bringing together the national, regional and local authorities, state forest employees and their families, as well as the public. The main celebrations will be taking place on 29 May 2019 at the Łochów Forest District of the Warsaw Regional Directorate.

The State Forests were established by the Regulation of the President of the Republic of June 28, 1924. Over almost 100 years the organization has been successfully managing state forestry assets for the benefit of forest ecosystems and their biodiversity as well as to meet societal needs and expectations. Today, the Polish State Forests manage approximately 7,6 million ha of land with a growing stock over 2,0 billion m3, and employ more than 26 thousand of employees.
