Forests and Education! – International Day of Forests 2019

The theme for International Day of Forests 2019 is Forests and Education.

The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21 March the International Day of Forests (IDF) in 2012. The Day celebrates and raises awareness of the importance of all types of forests. On each International Day of Forests, countries are encouraged to undertake local, national and international efforts to organize activities involving forests and trees, such as tree planting campaigns.

European State Forest Organisations, members of EUSTAFOR, are involved into organisation of various events to celebrate IDF. This year, for example, the Polish State Forests – Lasy Państwowe – support the organisation of the event “Learn to Love Forests”, which will take place on 21 March 2019 at UNECE in Geneva.
