Executive Director’s visit to Srbijasume Headquartes in Belgrade

Piotr Borkowski, Executive Director of EUSTAFOR, paid a visit to Srbijasume’s offices in Belgrade on 19 September 2023. The visit was proposed by Mr Ješa Erčić, Executive Director for Forestry & Environmental Protection. Mr. Borkowski presented EUSTAFOR, its principles, objectives and work modalities to the Executive Board of Srbijasume. Several aspects of forest-related policy making were discussed, particularly in the context of the ongoing implementation of the EU Green Deal. Furthermore, the sustainable management of forests in Serbia was discussed.

Srbijasume has been one of the non-EU based associated members of EUSTAFOR since 2018. It is one of the biggest state forest management organizations in the Western Balkan region. Both Srbijasume and EUSTAFOR are looking forward to enhanced cooperation.
