State Forests in the Baltic Sea Region: Where experience meets challenges and future opportunities

Ahead of its 13th annual Baltic Sea Forum of Finland taking place on 21 October 2020 in Turku, the Centrum Balticum Foundation has published the 1/2020 issue of its BSR Policy Briefing series titled “The forest industry around the Baltic Sea region: Future challenges and opportunities“. This forum publication aims at helping the forum participants to familiarize themselves with opportunities and challenges that the forest industry in the Baltic Sea region faces.

EUSTAFOR contributed to this publication with an article on “State Forests in the Baltic Sea Region: Where experience meets challenges and future opportunities“. The article provides an overview of the management of several state forest organizations in the Baltic Sea Region, including their main focuses in forest resource management, their products, challenges faced, experiences gained as well as the benefits they provide for society.
