ROSEWOOD Final Conference and Forestry Innovation Workshop 2020

The Forest Innovation Workshop is a biennial European initiative which promotes networking and exchanges among regions and the community of forestry and wood industry innovators and actors.

The 2020 workshop edition took place on 15 and 16 January in Florence. The event was hosted by the ROSEWOOD Network, a Horizon 2020 funded Coordination and Support Action which main target is the enhancement of sustainable wood mobilisation through inter-regional knowledge transfer.

The workshop was focused on the following four thematic areas:

  • Managing Impacts related to Climate Change;
  • Supporting Wood and Biomass Mobilization;
  • Supporting the Provision of Ecosystem Services;
  • Improving Sustainable Forest Management Approaches and Tools.

Alberto Negro, President of ANARF (Associazione Nazionale delle Attività Regionali Forestali) was invited to give a speech in the opening session. In his presentation on Managing European State Forests Responsibly – Objectives, Priorities, Challenges Ahead, he gave a short overview of EUSTAFOR and its Strategy and Priorities for 2019- 2021 as well as EUSTAFOR’s challenges and vision targets for the future.
