Sustainable Wood for a Sustainable World: FAO Global Meeting

FAO organizes a Global Meeting “Sustainable Wood for a Sustainable World” at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Rome, Italy, from 31 October to 1 November 2017.

The Global Meeting aims to explore the role of sustainable wood value chains in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and commitments under the Paris Agreement. Covering both policy and market aspects, the meeting will shed light on the supply and demand side of sustainable wood value chains, exploring the impacts of sustainable forest management, responsible production, technological progress and product diversification on sustainability of rural and urban societies and their importance for a more inclusive development model.
