Workshop – Develop, adopt and transfer innovative solutions and actions to prevent and control wildfires

The General Directorate of Forestry Türkiye, Silva Mediterranea (the Committee on Mediterranean Forestry Questions – Silva Mediterranea under FAO) and FOREST EUROPE are organizing a joint workshop in order to support capacity building to prevent and control wildfires as well as to share the best practices while establishing cooperation and strong partnerships. This joint workshop is scheduled to take place on 24-27 October 2022 in Antalya, Türkiye, and will be hosted by the General Directorate of Forestry Türkiye.

The workshop includes the objectives to:
1. Strengthen international/regional cooperation and coordination. Building capacity in prevention, preparedness and response among networks;
2. Development of fire-resistant and fire-resilient forest landscapes. Best practices on prevention, adaptation and post-fire management;
3. Use and exchange of technological developments and innovative approaches.
