EP Intergroup event – European bioeconomy’s role in reaching the EU Green Deal targets

The 21 June 2022, the EP Intergroup on Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development will organize an online event about the “European bioconomy’s role in reaching the EU Green Deal targets”, from 10:00 to 11:30 CEST.

The event will be hosted by the MEP Franc Bogovič, chair of the Working Group of the European Parliament Intergroup on Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development.

The aim of the event is focused to serve a policy discussion platform for different stakeholders to explore the role and the achievements of the bioeconomy. Moreover, it will be useful also to find the ways in which its policy framework can be improved in the Green Deal’s context.

It is an event in collaboration with European Confederation representing the pulp and paper industries (CEPI) which has the purpose to highlight the solutions that the forest-based industries are delivering to tackle the climate change, such as providing renewable and recycling low-carbon alternatives to fossil-based materials.
