EUSTAFOR co-hosts SUPERB webinar to finalize project

This SUPERB webinar was organized on 14 November 2025, and co-hosted by SUPERB, EUSTAFOR & CEPF. The goal of the webinar was to present the final results of the project’s associate partners, subcontractors, and their networks. It brought together experts from across Europe to share recent insights on forest restoration, including innovative methods, impacts on carbon, biodiversity and wood provision, as well as societal perceptions and stakeholder involvement. The agenda also covered biodiversity credits, nature markets, the Restoration Marketplace and the Forest Knowledge Gateway.

In EUSTAFOR’s case this meant that Mr. Jędrzej Damski from Polish State Forests gave a presentation on their forest restoration case study. Their presentation focussed on post-storm forest restoration, specifically after the impactful storm of 12 August 2017. The affected areas were quickly identified for introducing broadleaf species and mixed stands, and were then reforested with a combination of planting and natural regeneration.  Soil health, hydrology, resilience and biodiversity were all important factors. The area became a living-lab for restoration and climate adaptation. The presentation was followed up by an open discussion with the other SUPERB project stakeholders and the experts present.

With this final webinar, EUSTAFOR’s involvement in this 4-year Horizon project will come to its conclusion.
