EUSTAFOR joins EUBA alliance

In December 2025, EUSTAFOR formally applied for membership of the EU Bioeconomy Alliance. Today on 23 February 2026, EUSTAFOR’s membership has officially been confirmed during the EUBA’s Secretary General meeting, in which Mr. Piotr Borkowski introduced EUSTAFOR to the rest of the alliance.

The EUBA is an alliance between key-stakeholders in the Bioeconomy sector, founded in 2015. Notable founding members include, besides known allies like CEPF, COPA-COGECA and CEPI, also EUBP (bioplastics) and FEDIOL (vegetable oil and protein meal). Their members altogether represent about 4,700 companies (including 5,100 production sites and mills) as well as 12 million farm holdings and 16 million forest owners.
The EUBA’s objective is to promote bioeconomy at EU level and make it a pan-European priority. They want to create a level playing field for bio-based products and materials. In these positions they are fully aligned with EUSTAFOR, which is why we decided to join their efforts.

The EUBA interacts with the EU policy makers through organising several events per year. They also produce joint position papers and press statements. Our membership will allow us to join our fellow stakeholders in a united voice, participate in joint events, and join coordinated advocacy efforts.
